We are happy to greet a new exhibit in the Historic Locomotive Shed Wittenberge. On Friday, 5.8.2016 the locomotive type S 200 was delivered by heavy transport. A shunting locomotive by Linke-Hoffmann-Busch, Salzgitter, it was originally delivered to Salzgitter-Chemie GmbH, the company operating a chemical processing plant at Melbeck-Embsen railway station near Lüneburg. After the plant closed in the 1980s, the locomotive was sold to the Wietzendorf starch factory, where it was used for shunting and unloading potatoes. The locomotive is operational. It has a six cylinder 245 hp diesel engine and has a top speed of 42 km/h.
