We found this picture online:
Our current club locomotive was in service with the Deutsche Reichsbahn at the time.
According to Mr M. Kwitniewski, he took this picture near Aschersleben in 1978/79.
We came across this picture through Julian Gier, who took over the pictures and the photographer's archive.
You can find several pictures from the old days on his Instagram page @steampower.ac.

The 2023 season is now over and the dark days are getting longer.

Nevertheless, it continues behind closed doors and gates, the coming year is not far away and there is always something to do.

With a night shot of our 50 3682-7, 50 3570-4 and guest locomotive 86 1333-3 we thank you for your loyalty as well as numerous visits.

In April 2024, we will again open the Historic Engine Shed Wittenberge every Saturday to welcome you dear guests.

We can do not only steam locomotives, but also diesel.
Currently, our V 100 is undergoing the main inspection for its commission on the rail network in Germany.
We report at regular intervals on the current progress of the 114 774-3.
In August 2020 it was available as a photo opportunity for a small group of railway enthusiasts on our premises.

Why not visit us in September on the following dates?
- Open Day at the EGP (Potsdam Railway Company) on 09.09.2023
- Day of the open monument in the locomotive shed on 10.09.2023
- Day of the rail in the locomotive shed on 16.09.2023

The two former Bundesbahn locomotives next to our dispatcher building are quite untypical for the Wittenberge depot.
V 320 001 was exhibited in working order for the first time at the summer festival on 8 and 9 July.
In the evening, during a short photo session, the 221 145-6 of the EGP joined the mighty diesel.

At the beginning of June, the good news spread in the locomotive shed that with the 118 748-3 we can once again present a locomotive in our stock that is ready to run.
From now on, the V 180 can be seen and experienced in operation at our events.
She immediately joined her sister 118 692-3.
On 8.7 and 9.7.2023 it will be in operation for the summer steam at the Wittenberge depot.

Men and machines come to rest!
The lights are still on in a small railway station in the middle of the Prignitz, where people are still sitting comfortably with a drink and a grilled sausage and evaluating the spring festival.

Exactly 10 years ago, express steam locomotive 03 1010 visited us on its way to Halle to replenish its water supply. The locomotive was built in 1941 and was last used at the Reichsbahn-Versuchsanstalt Halle before it was added to the stock of the Deutsche Bahn Transport Museum. It was operational until 2019.

The days are getting longer again. The birds are singing. Spring is just around the corner. As a little foretaste of this year's spring event, let's take a look back at last year. At that time's photo hour, some steam locomotives from the Wittenberge railway station were brought back to life and were under steam, almost like in the days of the Reichsbahn.
